"There are so many shortcuts and technical advances that create works of art. I prefer to do it by hand; the slow messy way. I work with charcoal, pastels, acrylic, oil and watercolors. 

I feel the same way about baking. Even though it's convenient to pick up dessert from your local store or pay a fortune for fondant; I like to bake from scratch to ensure quality and flavor.
